What style of Karate do Shin-Gi-Tai train in?
The popular, internationally recognised, Shotokan Karate syllabus developed by Anko Itosu and Gichin Funakoshi forms the basis of the Shin-Gi-Tai Karate training. As students progress through the syllabus a greater emphasis is placed on Seito karate; a true karate system based on the traditional Okinawan Uchinadi and Shuri-te systems (basis of Shotokan).
Why choose Shin-Gi-Tai Adult Training?
Unlike many Karate clubs, Shin-Gi-Tai focuses on the highly practical and instinctive self-defence applications of Karate. This practical training philosophy is further reinforced with the use of Drills, Kumite (sparring) and Kata (forms) all of which are geared to the practical, Okinawan, self-defence approach to Karate rather than the modern, sport oriented Japanese styles.
The club caters for the training needs of both men and women. Class sizes are kept small enough to ensure a high level of individual tuition to help you get the best out of your training session. There are no separate grading fees for club members and all our gradings are internationally recognised and registered.
How long are Shin-Gi-Tai Adult Training classes?
All classes are two hours in duration, although our students are welcome to attend for only one hour if they prefer. The content of our lessons is adjusted to suit the students attending class.
