When I first read this small book I expected to read about fantastic
physical achievements and superior powers in the man. What I found was a
very down-to-earth story about a 'normal' man who went through his life
affected by family and social pressured brought to bear upon him, tradition
and acceptance/rejection of influential people. What is clear, is that the man was a humble person, not taking advantage of his position in society or overly influencing others to his advantage. There is no mention of the magical feats one may expect from masters of a martial art and in fact many myths were discounted or dispelled by the author. A very humble look at a man who achieved so much.. an interesting read aimed at a mature audience. |
